NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2009Enalasys Corporation (Enalasys) has been ranked no. 44 by Inc. magazine on its 28th annual Inc. 500, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Enalasys also placed third among the top 100 energy companies listed in the Inc. 500 rankings. The company’s 2005 and 2008 sales were $889,915 and $25.9 million, respectively, with total revenue growth during that three-year period of 2,813%.

To arrive at its 2009 list of the nation’s 500 fastest-growing private companies, the Inc. 500 measured revenue growth from 2005 through 2008.

In addition to impressive revenue growth, Enalasys has achieved several other significant growth milestones from 2005 through 2008:

• Qualified contractors in the Enalasys network increased from 30 to 365

• Certified technicians performing energy efficiency jobs within the Enalasys network increased from 145 to 1,991

• Enalasys technicians completed 12,100 energy efficiency tests in 2005 and completed 219,766 tests in 2008

• Enalasys saw its employee headcount increase from 4 in 2005 to 47 in 2008

• In 2008, Enalasys’ energy efficiency work provided 100,000 KW and 179,000,000 kWh of measured, verified energy savings.

“Enalasys is well positioned for growth within the energy efficiency diagnostic space as the Inc. 500 rankings attest,” said Eric Taylor, president and CEO, Enalasys Corporation. “In 2004 we understood the importance that efficiency would play in the energy sector and took the necessary steps to connect our proprietary technologies to meet growing demand within the government, business and consumer segments. Clearly, we are pleased to be recognized by Inc. as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies – it underscores the success of our go-to-market strategy and the execution abilities of our leadership team.”

“If you want to know which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500,” said Inc. editor Jane Berentson. “These are the most dynamic, fast-growth companies in the nation, the ones finding innovative solutions to problems, creating smart systems, and inventing products we soon discover we can’t live without. The Inc. 500 list is Inc. magazine’s tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition.”

The Inc. 500 list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, GoDaddy, Under Armour, Jamba Juice, American Apparel, Oracle, and hundreds of other powerhouses gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500.

The 2009 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. and on Inc.com, reported aggregate revenue of $18.4 billion—up significantly from last year’s $13.7 billion—and a median three-year growth rate of 880.5 percent. The companies on this year’s list are also responsible for creating more than 55,000 jobs since their founding, making the Inc. 500 perhaps the best example of the impact private, fast-growing companies can have on the overall U.S. economy.

The 2009 Inc. 500 measures revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2008. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2005 is $200,000; the minimum for 2008 is $2 million.
